Shantelle Davidson is a singer and entrepreneur. However, she lives as a resilient survivor who overcomes what ever tragic events comes her way. When it comes to life, as well as her music, things are “LOOKING UP”.
Hailing from Rainy River, a small town in Northern Ontario bordering on Minnesota, she grew up singing in church and at local talent shows. Growing up so close to America, it was almost like it was her destiny to spend some time in the south.
Davidson graduated from the American Musical & Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles, CA, then spent time in Vancouver working as an actress and recording original music. She later returned to Alberta to record her solo debut album in Calgary, which was released in 2015, earned impressive reviews, and was played on radio stations across Canada and the United States. Following her 2017 single, “Gone” Shantelle became a Mother. “Everything looks different now, she explains. “Before I was a Mom my purpose wasn’t clear. I know now that I was put on this earth to be a parent and make music”.
Shantelle became a CBC Searchlight Regional Finalist, Top 10 Nashville North Star (Calgary Stampede) and Top 12 Project Wild Finalist in conjunction with Alberta Music. “Project Wild was the best thing for my music career, it opened my eyes to what I need to work on from a business standpoint as well as artistically,” says Davidson.
Opening concerts across Canada for many reputable Artists including Meghan Patrick and Chad Brownlee, she is just getting started.
Experiencing the devastation and resilience in her community of her adopted home of Fort McMurray, with the Wildfire in 2016 and flood in April 2020, Shantelle was inspired to release something positive and upbeat. What could be difficult after losing your home, came easy to her. She knows how important it is to be a light, especially during these unprecedented times. Help someone when you can and keep on “looking up”! The single was written by Juno award winner Clayton Bellamy (the Road Hammers) & Gold selling Artist, Dan Davidson.
