Few artists capture the spirit of country music like award-winning recording artist Kendra Kay. Raised on the Canadian prairies and hailed as ‘Canada’s Country Girl’ (Harlton Empire), Kendra has quickly gained a reputation as an artist on the rise. In a few short years, she has signed on worldwide with Sakamoto Agency, won the 2019 Manitoba Country Music Association (MCMA) Female Artist of the Year, the 2018 and 2019 MCMA Fan’s Choice Award and earned a Top 10 spot in the CBC Searchlight music competition.
Along the way, she has amassed over half a million streams, spent 17 weeks in the Top 100 Canada Country Airplay Chart and secured synchronization in the USA with her latest single ‘Steady’. Her sophomore EP ‘More to Me’, was co-produced by country star Terri Clark and Juno Award winner Jeff Jones, along with CCMA Producer of the Year winner Murray Pulver. Recent singles include ‘How It’s Done’ and ‘Steady’, written by top level talent such as Madeline Merlo (NBC Songland), Karen Kosowski, and Victoria Banks.
Armed with her 5-piece band, she has gained a strong fan base across Canada with high energy live performances such as the CFL Banjo Bowl Halftime Show at Investor’s Group Stadium in front of 33,000 screaming fans, and joined Tim Hicks on his ‘Get Loud’ tour and performed with country icon Patricia Conroy. Known for her ‘powerhouse vocals… making her show a must see’ (Top Country News) she has played festivals like Dauphin’s CountryFest Mainstage, Canadian Finals Rodeo, Canadian Music Week, Sunfest Country Music Festival, Canadian Country Music Week, and provided direct support to artists such as Corb Lund, James Barker Band, Gord Bamford, Jess Moskaluke, Charlie Major, and Aaron Prichett.
